The TDD List

This talk will distill key testing concepts into a list of a dozen espresso-sized shots of practical TDD wisdom that experienced programmers can easily fit into their repertoire.

The condensed list will be derived from a broad spectrum of testing practices, including:

  • Test-first vs. Test-last programming
  • Organizing your tests
  • When to mock (dependency management)
  • Heuristics for test data selection
  • Data-driven and parameterized unit tests
  • Coverage (test adequacy) concepts
  • Feedback and Continuous Integration
  • Refactoring hints for both code and tests

For the experienced programmer who is new to Test-driven Development or for the TDD veteran looking to solidify their skills, this talk will help the programmer to increase productivity, identify bugs earlier, and become a test-driven bad ass.
