Anyone can learn SQL in 10 minutes. However, can you learn enough to run a system? Do you know the good and the bad of what you have learned?
This session will hopefully guide you down the road to being a SQL legend. More accurately, the guy that didn't crash the server due to bad sql. This session will go over the good, bad, and ugly when it comes to sql in an application. Tips will be given as to best practices and better ways to manipulate data.
We will also go over some "gotchas" that seem to catch most people new to development. We will also go over a bunch of things that those DBA guys never want you to know about. For instance, indexes and how hard drives can make or break a query.
