Building Secure CFML Applications by Jason Dean and Pete Freitag
April 21 - One Day
Course Description
Hacking a website is one of the best ways to learn about web application security. In this one-day hands-on course you will learn about a wide range of security topics essential to every ColdFusion developer.
The course will begin by covering the principles and foundations of application security. Next you will learn about vulnerabilities by exploiting them in a vulnerable example application. As you hack each vulnerability you will also dig into the source code behind it, and fix it as we discuss countermeasures to prevent these vulnerabilities from showing up in your applications.

Currently employed by the Minnesota Department of Health, Jason Dean has been working in Information Technology for 12 years, focusing on application security for the past three. A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard trained in both physical and information security, he held a secret security clearance and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology Management from American Military University. He keeps busy managing a ColdFusion User Group at the Department of Health, sitting on the board of the Twin Cities ColdFusion User Group, speaking at conferences and user groups, training, and blogging at http://www.12robots.com.

Developing Applications with ColdFusion 9 Object Relational Mapping by Mark Mandel and Bob Silverberg
April 20-21 - Two Days
Course Description
You've heard the buzz about ColdFusion 9's ORM integration but may be wondering how to get started using it in your applications. Here's your opportunity to learn all about it from two seasoned ColdFusion veterans.
This comprehensive two-day workshop will cover what you need to know to get up and running using ColdFusion 9's ORM features in your next project. Through interactive learning and hands-on labs, we'll start with the basics, continuing through building two complete working applications. Along the way we'll discuss best practices and potential pitfalls of this powerful new technology.
The majority of the class will be spent with you writing code on your own workstation, so not only will you absorb more through "learning by doing", but you'll also go home with plenty of working code examples that you can bring into your future projects.
No previous knowledge of ORMs or Object Oriented programming is required, but a basic knowledge of CFCs would be helpful.
